Sewage effluent engineering for work camps involves design, application, construction / installation, and applicable monitoring and reporting. Examples of project work include: regulatory summaries, reporting, design of effluent lagoon systems, operating plan and environmental impact studies, soil studies, and design of treatment fields.In BC, smaller systems and subsurface disposal are generally regulated through BC Ministry of Health, while larger systems or systems with disposal to water and reclaimed water uses are regulated through BC Ministry of Environment.In Alberta, smaller systems are regulated through Alberta Municipal Affairs, while larger systems are regulated through Alberta Environment and Parks.
